Queen Bee
Chorus:
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Why are you looking at me?
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Will you rescue me?
Verse 1:
When I was a young child
The strays all followed me.
Why does it always seem to be on me
To save the birds, the trees, the honey bees
Ants, plants, squirrels in the trees?
Chorus:
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Why are you looking at me?
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Will you rescue me?
Verse 2:
When I was a young child
And taught to share
It’s not about me, we’re supposed to care.
We are one. Save the earth and humanity.
From the land, sky, fishes in the sea
Queen Bee… Queen Bee…
Bridge:
We’ve become detached, forgotten who we are,
Disrespected Earth, strayed so very far.
If we’re to survive, save Paradise,
The time is now, change our ways, be aware,
Learn to share, treat each other fair.
Chorus:
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Why are you looking at me?
Queen Bee, Queen Bee, Queen Bee
Will you rescue me?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve found great comfort and inspiration in nature and music. As my love for music has grown, so has my devotion to our environment. Now, I’ve put my twin passions into action, combining them in a creative play at activism.
Then it dawned on me: the best way I could champion the environment was to raise awareness and help save the bees through music.
The audio and video production were fun and even noteworthy (pun intended) 🎶🐝 I sought help at first from artists and technicians in big cities across the state, till I remembered the amazing talent in my own community of Daytona Beach. Through contacts at Daytona State College, I connected with Matt Marseglia (audio) and Kerry Schrage (video), both former DSC students. They were just the right partners to help me bring this project to fruition—and now to you.
I hope you find the song and video as much fun and as inspiring as it’s been to create it. And if it moves you to action, even better.
